KASUKA (微か) — A Cozy Observation Game

A peaceful Japanese village. You explore it, memorize every detail. Then you step through a mystic torii gate — and return to the same village. But something has subtly changed.

A lantern has gone out. A chest has disappeared. A statue has moved. Take your time, observe carefully, and find all the anomalies.

How to Play

Phase 1 — Memorize
Explore the village freely. Look at every detail — the position of objects, the state of lanterns, where the NPCs stand. When you're ready, walk through the torii gate.

Phase 2 — Detect
The village looks the same... but it's not. Anomalies have appeared. Click on anything that has changed. But be careful — clicking on the wrong object costs you a life!

Each round, the village changes a little more. The anomalies become subtler, the timer tighter. How far can you go?

About

Made for Brackeys Game Jam 2026.1 — Theme: "Strange Places"

Built with Unity 6 (URP) using POLYGON Samurai Empire assets by Synty Studios.

The village isn't a strange place at first — it becomes one. The familiar that shifts subtly is more intriguing than the already bizarre.

Solo dev — programming, level design, and art direction.

What's Next

This is an alpha version made during the jam. A full commercial release is planned with:

  • Multiple maps (onsen, night market, mountain temple, fishing port...)
  • Two game modes: Normal (cozy, no timer) and Challenge (timer + lives)
  • Star rating system and progression
  • More anomaly types including audio anomalies
  • Steam release

Wishlist on Steam (coming soon!) and follow to stay updated.
